Well, it's been a busy summer!

I completed the seven-day National Staff College at Maxwell AFB in Alabama, was a flight instructor at the 12-day Cadet Officer School also at Maxwell AFB in Alabama, and then was master of ceremonies and presenter at the two day 2014 National PAO Academy in Las Vegas, NV.

NSC is limited in enrollment to CAP majors or higher grade and is taught by senior CAP leaders and USAF instructors from Air University. Fewer than 2,500 of all senior members have reached this level of professional development.

NSC was held at the Squadron Officer College at Maxwell AFB in Alabama.

COS is patterned after the USAF Squadron Officer School and is an academically challenging course for cadets 16 and older, offering an in-depth study of the skills of leadership with lectures, seminars, and hands-on training. As an instructor, I was expected to guide cadets through the Air Force approach to the psychology of leadership, problem-solving techniques, effective writing, speaking, and group dynamics.

My students in Flight 6 were able to complete three of the
Project X problems, tied for first place among all 10 flights!
On the far left is my co-instructor, AF Maj Jason Van
Wagner. In the middle is AF Maj Andrew Clayton, Project
                                              X coordinator.

PAO Academy V was designed to empower CAP’s PAOs with the skills, knowledge and expertise to plan and implement professional quality marketing, public relations, and communications programs at the region, wing, and squadron levels.

Maj. Gen. Chuck Carr stopped by to say hello at the opening of the 2014 National PAO Academy in Las Vegas and stood still long enough for someone to take a photo of him with me.

And finally, at the National Conference, the National Commander presented the Exceptional Service Award to me for my service as National Public Affairs Officer during his term. I'm honored!
