On a crisis communications panel

That's me on the bottom left corner of the PPT slide.
I was on a panel at Sinclair Community College last month discussing crisis communications called "Media Day: Crisis Edition; Are you ready to communicate when a crisis hits?"

Others on the panel were Deb Decker, assistant director of communications, Montgomery County; Mary Ann Kabel, director of corporate communications, DP&L; and Lora Davenport, advocacy and communications manager, Dayton Food Bank. I represented the Dayton Chapter of the American Red Cross.

There was also a panel of local media that talked about what it’s like to cover a crisis, how they choose what stories to cover during a crisis, and how to better pitch about your organization when a crisis hits.

And there was a tabletop exercise on how to respond in a hypothetical crisis situation, the goal being to give talking points and ideas to take back to your place of business so you can be more prepared when a crisis hits.
