A refresher at the Phoenix Chapter of the Red Cross

Allen Clark taught four courses in three hours!
I attended a class last night as a refresher. When I tried to register it was already full, but I guess someone backed out because I got a call about three hours before it started and was able to get over there. It was taught by Allen Clark, emergency manager at Arizona State University. I hadn't met him before, and he was quite a character, which helped the 20 of us get through a lot of PowerPoint slides.

Anyway, the class was a combination of the FEMA IS100, 200, 700 and 800 courses, all of which are offered online for free, but are better when taught in the classroom in my opinion.

I kept my mouth shut for 99.9 percent of the time, because nobody wants to hear from a "know-it-all" when it's all new to them. But I did give the correct answer when the instructor asked for the name of the legislation that created FEMA. After the class ended I gave Mr. Clark my FEMA business card, and he asked me how he did. I gestured with two thumbs up!
