Doing some good on a Sunday

Kim helps me registers runners before the run/walk starts.
So, today was the Arizona Trauma Association's third annual Tackle Trauma 5K walk/run, held at Papago Park in Tempe. Funds were raised for trauma research and injury prevention in Arizona.

I volunteered, through the Red Cross, to help register runners (S through Z). Mary walked the moderate-level course with Lambeau.

The event was a unique and meaningful collaboration of multiple trauma centers within the Valley of the Sun. Participants included surgeons, nurses, EMS, students as well as community members.

According to the ATA, their primary focus is about the dangers of distracted driving. ATA says traumatic injury is the leading cause of death for all children and adults up to age 46!

The walk/run was covered by TV. I can just barely be seen in the very last seconds: Channel 3
