FBI Citizens Academy Class of 2017

Michael DeLeon is special agent in charge.
I completed the FBI's Citizens Academy program in 2015, but I like to stay involved with the FBI Phoenix Citizens Academy Alumni Association, so I attended the graduation of the Class of 2017 today.

Michael DeLeon, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI's Phoenix Division, gave a really inspiring speech as did representatives from the three combined classes - Phoenix, Flagstaff and Tucson.

The speaker who represented the Phoenix class is a former state GOP chairman. The speaker who represented the Flagstaff class is a criminology professor at NAU. And the speaker who represented the Tucson class works for the U.S. State Department. Wow!

I sat with two proud graduates and their families and also with a former graduate and his wife.

The alumni association, a private non-profit corporation separate from the FBI, actively supports the community outreach efforts of the Phoenix Field Office.
